Dixon and Daughters

by Deborah Bruce

Production synopsis An important and timely play that follows the lives of three generations of women living in the Dixon family home.

Mary (our matriarch) has just been released from prison. She wants to come home and forget all about it – but Briana (her stepdaughter) has other ideas.

Over two tumultuous days, the family is forced to confront not only their past, but everything about themselves. Because the truth doesn’t go away, even if you refuse to hear it.

Dixon and Daughters is a strong and powerful new play (first performed in 2023) for six very talented female actresses of varying ages. Set inside a modest house, in Bradford the action takes place in multiple rooms of the house at the same time. It is present day.
